(DAY-2) Armed Police Force (APF) and Nepal Police Club (NPC) women teams have won their respective matches in the 1st Srijana Invitational Women’s and Men’s National Volleyball Tournament 2073 at Pokhara Stadium, Pokhara, Kaski, on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
In the second day of the tournament, APF beat Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) 25-9, 25-17, 25-18 straight sets while NPC women registered 25-7, 25-20, 25-16 straight wins over India’s UP Volleyball Association in the second match of DAY-2.
DAY-2 matches were formally launched by former Minister Kiran Gurung by handing over the volleyball to referee Bikas Gurung amidst a function at Pokhara Stadium.
Chief Guest CA member Rabindra Adhikari formally inaugurated the tournament by handing volleyball to referee Narayan Bahadur Bhandari amidst an inaugural function on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Army’s team had defeated APF team in 23-19, 29-27, 25-21 straight sets in the inaugural match.
Altogether, six each women and men teams – five from Nepal and from India – will are in the title fray. The final is set for February 11.
The winner of the tournament will bag Rs 155,555 and runner-up will receive Rs 77,777 as cash prize and the third place will get Rs 33,333 along with the trophies and medals.
Western Region Sports Development Committee has organised the Championship with the technical support of Kaski District Sports Development Committee on the main sponsorship of Srijana Development Center.
The organiser has also fixed the ticket price at Rs 100 for initial phase games, Rs 150 for semi-final round and Rs 200 for final.
The event is supported by Nepal Volleyball Association along with Western Region Volleyball Association and District Volleyball Association, Kaski.
