Defending champion - Armed Police Force (APF) and New Diamond Academy -have set final clash in the KNP National Women's Volleyball at Dasharath Stadium's Covered Hall on Friday, June 9, 2017.
In the first semis held today, Armed Police beat its departmental team Nepal Police Club 3-0 straight sets – 25-11, 25-20, 25-16.
Saraswoti Chaudhary collected 21 points from 44 spikes and 4 points from serves while Nebika Chaudhary contributed 15 points off 35 spikes. Similarly, Usha Bista added 4 points through spikes and 2 points from blocks for APF.
Police’s Kopila Upreti had accumulated 12 points via spikes and serves while Manisha Chaudhary 8 points from spikes and serves.
Similarly, New Diamond Academy defeated Western Region Volleyball Association in three straight sets in second semi-final of the tournament.
Despite competitive match in the first set, Western Region had faced 25-22 close defeat in first set. New Diamond dominated in the remaining two sets by 25-9, 25-14 points to secure easy victory.
Prativa Mali proved to major contributor for New Diamond as she scored 38 points off 66 spikes while Kripa Ashikari added 7 points through serves. Western Region’s captain Manju Gurung and Aruna Shahi were major contributors for the team.
The winner will take away Rs 150,000 as cash prize while runner-up will receive Rs 100,000 and third place will get Rs 50,000. The best players of the tournament in different categories will be awarded with Rs 15,000 each.
