Armed Police Force (APF) has clinched the title of the Prime Minister Cup Women’s National Cricket Tournament that concluded in Itahari, Sunsari, on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.APF Women registered eight wickets victory against Far-Western Region to crown the champion of the PM Cup Women’s Cricket.
While chasing the target of 58 runs posted by Far-West, APF easily met the target in 14.1 overs with the loss of two wickets. Sarita magar scored 22 runs and Sita Rana Magar contributed 16 runs for winner.
In the first inning, Far-West Samjhana Khadka scored 16 runs and Rekha Rawat took a wicket. Ritu Kanajiya claimed three wickets and Sita Rana took a wicket for APF.
Kanajiya was also declared the player of the final and best bowler of the tournament while Far-West Rawat was announced best batsman. They both received Rs 5,000.
Similarly, APF’s Sita Ran was the player of the series. She was awarded with the cash prize of Rs 10,000.
With the title, APF won the cash reward of Rs 100,000 while runner-up had to satisfy for Rs 50,000.
National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Keshav Kumar Bista along with Eastern region regional Sports Development Committee member ganesh Budhathoki handed over the prizes to the winners amidst a concluding function in Itahari.
Altogether, six teams from - five development regions and Armed Police Force (APF) team – had competed in the league-cum-knockout tournament. Itahari Cricket Academy had organised the tournament.
