Armed Police Force (APF) Club has clinched the title of the Second Prime Minister Indo-Nepal Women’s Volleyball Championship in Nepalgunj, on Thursday, March 12, 2015.
APF Club beat New Diamond Academy 25-17 25-22 and 25-13 in the final match to clinch the title.
Though New Diamond was at the top of the point table’s chart, it had lost all the three sets in the final.
With the title, APF bagged Rs 55,000 while New Diamond has to satisfy for Rs 35,000 and Nepal Police Rs 25,000.
Similarly, APF’s Saraswoti Chudhary was declared best player of the tournament while Police’s Kamala Pun won best defender, New Diamond’s Kripa Adhikari best center and Pratibha Mali best spiker.
Likewise, APF’s Nebika Chaudhary won best serve and Usha Bista best blocker of the tournament.
National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Yuvaraj Lama handed over the prizes to the winners amidst a concluding ceremony in Nepalgunj covered hall.
Altogether, five teams including India’s Uttar Pradesh had competed in the tournament.
