Armed Police Force (APF) has also entered the semi-final of the the 1st Prime Minister Cup Cricket Tournament on Friday, June 2, 2017.
APF defeated Mid-Western Region by five wickets to register second win in a row after beating another semis contender Western Region by 16 runs in its inaugural match on Monday.
Western Region had made it to the next round after defeating Mid-Western Region by nine wickets on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, it had registered huge victory of 95 runs against Central Region.
In today’s match, though Mid-Western played full 50 overs scoring 181 runs for the loss of eight wickets, mighty APF chased down the target in 28.2 overs making 184 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Sandeep Sunar made half-century of 87 runs, Aasif Sheikh 40 runs, Prithu Baskota 15 runs and Subash Khakurel 12 runs. Amar Singh Rautela and Vijay Chaoudhary claimed two wickets each for Mid-Western.
During the first inning, Mid-Western’s Anupam Singh had also made a half-century with 56 runs while Rajbir Singh scored 37 runs, Siddhant Raj Shahi 35 runs and Shubhendru Pandey 23 runs.
Bhuvan Karki grabbed three wickets while Avinash Bohara took two wickets for winner.
Meanwhile, Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club already entered the semis as Group B winner and runner-up respectively.
Group A - Armed Police Force (APF), Western Region, Central Region, Mid-western Region
Group B - Tribhuvan Army Club, Eastern Region, Far-western Region, Nepal Police Club
The winner of the tournament will bag Rs 2 million while the runner-up will get Rs 1 million. Similarly, the two semi-finalists will receive Rs 50,000 each.
The man of the series will be awarded with Rs 100,000 while best batsman and bowler will get Rs 50,000 each. Likewise, the emerging player will get Rs 25,000 while man-of-the-match will be given Rs 5,000 in every match.
