Nepal is all set to host AFC U-14 Girls’ Regional Championship 2015 in Kathmandu from Monday, April 20, 2015.
Altogether, seven teams from host Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, IR Iran, Maldives and Sri Lanka will compete in the five-day Regional Championship.
The teams are divided into two groups -- Nepal, Iran, Maldives and Sri Lanka are in Group A while Bangladesh, Bhutan and India are in Group B.
Nepal will take on Iran in the inaugural match of the Regional Championship at Dasharath Stadium on Monday at 1 PM.
All the preparation has been completed for organising championship, according organiser All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
The main objective of organising the event was to promote women’s football from the grassroots level in the country, said ANFA acting vice-president Lalit Krishna Shrestha at a press conference on Saturday.
ANFA has also fixed the ticket rates at Rs 100 for closed parapet and Rs 50 for open parapet. The estimated budget of the tournament is Rs 7.2 million.
