The Asian Football Federation (AFC) has unveiled the fixtures of the AFC Cup 2019. Martyr's Memorial A-Division League Champion Manang Marshyandi Club (MMC) from Nepal is all set to compete in the tournament.
As per the fixtures, MMC along with India’s Minerva Punjab, Bangladesh’s Dhaka Abahani Limited and winner of Play-off South Asia are drawn in Group E. There are three teams from India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka in Play-off.
Manang will start the campaign with Dhaka Abahani at the ANFA Complex in home-and-away basis on April 3, 2019 and second match against the winner of Play-off on April 17, 2019.
Similarly, Nepal’s Champions will take on India’s Minerva Punjab in its third match of the Cup at Kalinga Stadium, India, on May 1. Then it will invite the same team to its home ground on May 15.
Likewise, Manang will compete against Dhaka Abahani in their home ground Bangabandhu National Stadium on June 19 and invite the same Dhaka based club to ANFA Complex on June 26.
The first phase of Play-off matches between Sri Lanka’s Colombo Football Club and Bhutan United are scheduled for February 20 and February 27. Then the winner team will face India’s Chennaiyin Football Club on March 6 and 13, respectively. The winner will advance to the Group E of the Cup.
The winners of each Group from Central Asia Zone, South Asia Zone and East Asia Zone will enter the Inter zone Play-off semi-finals.
