Manang Marshyandi Club (MMC) has set final encounter with host Jhapa XI in the 2nd Rumpum Jhapa Gold Cup 2073 at Domalal Ground on Sunday, February 6, 2017.
MMC defeated 10-man Tribuvan Army Club (TAC) 1-0 in the second semi-final match to advance to the final of the Gold Cup on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Jhapa had thrashed Himalayan Sherpa Club 4-0 in the first semis round to enter the final on Friday.
A sole goal of Bimal Rana in the first half proved to be the match winning score for MMC. Sujan Shrestha was declared man of the match and received Rs 7,000 cash prize.
Army’s team was reduced to 10-man in the second half as Suman Aryal had to leave the ground after second yellow card.
Last month in January 7, 2017, MMC had lost to Army in the final match of the Tuborg Hetauda Gold Cup. MMC had also won the title of Far-West Kaptad Gold Cup and Rara! Aaha Gold Cup within this month.
The winner of the Gold Cup will win the cash prize of Rs 700,000 along with the trophy.
