Nepal Police Volleyball Team has registered second consecutive victory in the ongoing 2nd Pathibhara National Men’s Volleyball Tournament in Taplejung Municipality, on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
Nepal Police team thrashed its departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) in three straight sets with 26-24, 25-17, 25-11. With the win Police has also topped the tournament with 6 points after two victories.
Nepal Police had beaten Eastern Region in three straight sets with 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 in the inaugural match. The matches are being held in round-robin format.
In the second day, Eastern Region won against Central Region. Though Eastern Volleyball team had taken the lead in the first and second matches with 25-13, 27-25, Central Region won in third and fourth sets with 25-22, 25-20 to make 2-2 draw. However, Eastern managed to win the decisive set with 15-8 to get 2 points in the tournament. Despite losing the match, Central Region also got a point.
In the first day, Tribuvan Army Club had defeated Central Region in three straight sets with 25-10, 25-17, 25-10.
The five-day tournament is featuring eight teams including – three departmental teams Nepal Police, Army and Armed Police Force and teams from five development regions.
The winner of the tournament will get the cash prize of Rs 330,000 while second place will receive Rs 165,000 along with trophies and medals.
Similarly, two semi-finalist teams will get Rs 35,000 each and beat player Rs 10,000. The tournament is organisd by Taplejung District Volleyball Association.
