The 1st edition of Bagmati Blind Cricket Running Shield 2015 has kicked off at TU Ground in Kritipur, Kathmandu on Monday, January 12, 2015.
The three-day event is being organised by Cricket Association of the Blind, Bagmati, which is affiliated to Cricket Association of the Blind, Nepal.
The tournament will feature -- three best of three T20 matches -- between Tribhuvan Army's Blind Cricket Team and the Cricket Team of Bagmati Zone, said organiser Cricket Association of the Blind, Bagmati.
Army's team is led by Major Pawan Ghimire while Bagmati is led by Kritan Shrestha Duwal, the organiser added.
In the first day of the match, Army defeated Bagmati by 18 runs.
In the first inning, Army scored 192 runs with the loss of four wickets in allotted 20 overs. Santa Bahadur Pahari scored highest 61 runs, Bikram Bahadur Rana 40 runs, Ramesh Baniya 12 runs and Bharat Thapa 10 runs.
Bagmati's Kritan Shrestha claimed two wickets while Surya Bhattarai and Shankhar Regmi took a wicket each.
While chasing the target, Bagmati was all out for 174 runs with the loss of nine wickets. Sagar Lama scored 64 runs, Ram Prasad Poudel 44 runs and Kritan Shrestha Duwal made 32 runs.
Vesh Bahadur Ranabhat alone claimed five wickets while Ramesh Baniya, Bharat Thapa, Bikram Bahadur Rana and Pawan Ghimire grabbed a wicket each for winner. Ranabhat was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
The next match is scheduled for 10.30 am at the same venue on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
